For cottage bakers, market vendors and small food brands

Nutrition Facts labels from your recipe, without the spreadsheet

Send your recipe as a photo, a spreadsheet or a typed list. We match each ingredient to USDA FoodData Central, calculate the values in the FDA format, and send back a print-ready Nutrition Facts panel, an ingredient list in order by weight, and an allergen statement. If an ingredient is unclear, we ask you. You check and approve every label before it goes on a package.

The problem

A label shouldn't take a week of lookups

  1. Looking up every ingredient and converting cups to grams by hand takes hours, and one slip changes the label.

  2. Lab analysis can cost hundreds of dollars per product, and you pay again when the recipe changes.

  3. Free label templates only lay out numbers you've already calculated yourself.

  4. A retailer or co-packer wants the panel before they'll stock or run your product.

How it works

  1. Send your recipe

A photo of the recipe card, a spreadsheet or a typed list, plus the batch yield and serving size you want.

  2. Answer any questions

If an ingredient could match several entries, like a brand of oats or a type of flour, we ask by email instead of guessing.

  3. Review and download

Check the panel, ingredient list and allergen statement, then download print-ready files in the size you need.

Questions

Is LabelReady available now?

Not yet. We're building it now. Join early access and we'll email you when it's ready, with your founding price locked in.

Will I be charged if I join?

No. Joining early access is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

Are the labels FDA approved?

No label is. FDA doesn't approve Nutrition Facts labels; it allows values calculated from a nutrient database, and the business selling the food is responsible for its label. We calculate the values and format the panel to FDA rules, and you review and approve everything before printing.

How accurate are the numbers?

They're estimates from USDA database averages for the ingredients and weights you give us. They're usually a good fit for baked goods, sauces and snacks made from standard ingredients. Frying, fermenting, heavy dehydrating or unusual ingredients can change the values, and we'll tell you when a lab test is the better choice.

Do I even need a Nutrition Facts panel?

Maybe not. FDA has small-business exemptions, and many cottage food sales don't require a panel. You still need an ingredient list and allergen information, and the exemption ends if you make nutrition or health claims. Check FDA's rules and your state's before you decide; we can't make that call for you.

Is it for food sold outside the US?

Not at first. Labels follow the US FDA format only. Meat and poultry products regulated by USDA, dietary supplements and restaurant menu labeling aren't covered.
